Bath Marches

What are the Bath Marches?

The Bath Marches will take place on Saturday 3rd October, 2020. Starting and finishing at Bath Recreation Ground in the beautiful Georgian city of Bath, the event comprises of 2 challenge walks or "Marches" of 9 and 15 miles including snack stops. Whilst the route follows established footpaths, the terrain presents plenty of challenges and good levels of fitness will be required by all those taking part. 

The event will be managed by an experienced team of outdoor experts and the event aims to appeal to all ages. Along the route, the support team will encourage Marchers and share details of the local, natural and military history. The support team will also manage the optional "Team Challenges" for groups.

The event aims to appeal to a number of audiences including:

• Serving or former services personnel
• Corporate teams
• Groups of friends or individuals keen to take on the challenge
• School teams
• Raise awareness and encourage fundraising towards our Supported Charities

2020 Entry Fees - Registration now open

• 9 & 15 mile route - £25
• 9 & 15 mile route Under 18's - £15

Team captains can register a team and invite others to join when registering themselves.

For teams larger than 6 Marchers contact the organisers.

Please note that a small additional booking fee is charged by our registration partner.

Marcher's Medal

All finishers will receive a Marcher's Medal as they cross the finish line. Food and drink will also be available.

The Bath Marches aims to:

• Demonstrate how spending time in the great outdoors can be fun as well as great for your health
• Highlight the wonderful countryside around Bath and how we must protect it.
• Share the rich history of the area area from Stone Age man, the Romans, the Middle Ages and more recently the World Wars.
• Encourage more people to take up walking

In addition all Marchers will have the option to enter the on the day photograph competition via Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

There are a number of sponsorship opportunities available including:

• Title sponsorship for the Bath Marches

Supporting Charities

The event encourages involvement from all charities and we invite fundraisers to use the Bath Marches as a way of engaging with your network. Charities taking part will have their logo featured on this website and will be included in our social media activity. All details are available from the Bath Marches office.

For 2020, the Bath Marches has nominated 3 supported charities for those Marchers who are looking to march for a great cause.

We are delighted to confirm that the ABF, The Soldier's Charity and The Royal Navy and Royal Marines Charity and the RAF Benevolent Fund will be our supported charities in 2020.

We also are inviting any other charity to enter walkers to raise funds for their cause and details of those involved can be viewed here. These are known as Participating Charities.
