East of Bath Companies Rise to the Lockdown Challenge – AGAIN!

East of Bath Companies Rise to the Lockdown Challenge – AGAIN!

Local companies are rising to the challenge that a second lockdown presents and are there helping us get through the next 4 weeks.  It is very important that we use their amazing services during this difficult time or there is a real possibility that they may not be there when we come out of lockdown.

One amazing achievement is that the 23rd Bath Scout group is still going ahead with their fundraising fireworks display – 7pm on Saturday 7th November just watch Solsbury Hill. More Details on their East of Bath Announcement

Below are just some of the updates from East of Bath Members.  #supportLocal

Eating and Drinking

Even though you cannot go out to your favourite pub or restaurant you can still have a night off from the cooking and washing up from one the many East of Bath members who are still offering take way or delivery services.

Easton Spice is still offering their collection and delivery service during lockdown.  They are open 5:30-10pm 7 days a week supporting our key workers and those staying safe at home.  Just call 01225858007 or visit their website  for collection or delivery orders.

Box Steam Brewery continues to offer its home delivery with free delivery on any local order over £20. They have also launched a new 5L “Mini Cask” (pic attached) so pub goers can still get that lovely fresh cask beer in a cool and innovative format. Why not try one of their “Pub Survival Packs” have everything you need to create you pub at home. Please go to www.boxsteambrewery.com/shop for more information.

Goodness Gazers will continue to deliver our Grazing Boxes during lockdown.  Perfect if you have something to celebrate - or just want a break from cooking!  I’ve had one of these and they are amazing and such a treat.  They typically include: 3/4 fine cheeses, 2/3 types of charcuterie, pork pies/scotch eggs, artisan bread & crackers, breadsticks/pretzels, fresh fruits, veg crudite & hummus, chutney/relish, dried fruits and nuts, antipasti and pickles/olives, some sweeter treats. They cater for Vegetarian, Vegan and Gluten Free, too.  Details on www.goodnessgrazers.co.uk or Order by emailing: hello@goodnessgrazers.co.uk

John Moore Sports is offering virtual appointments and same day local delivery.  Their service in the first lockdown was beyond first class and if you are looking to use this lockdown to get fitter, or just work off some of the excess from the food and drink section then we cannot recommend John Moore Sports high enough!  Book a virtual appointment or order online at www.johnmooresports.co.uk

Youth Groups

One of the hardest hit groups (in my opinion) is also being hit hard this time.

Avon rugby club, like others across the country, having to scale back their activities. Training sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays, which had been running in accordance with the RFU return-to-play guidelines, have now been suspended for at least the period of lockdown. The Minis sessions for our Under 7s, 8s and 9s on Sunday mornings have also been postponed. Check their website for more information

23rd Bath Scout Group have had to go back into a virtual scout environment with zoom calls instead of outside meetings.

Crafty chameleon kids are closed and providing lockdown finishes on December 2nd, will start sessions back up in Bathford Parish Hall from Tuesday, December 8th. Please check their social media for updates. Instagram: @craftychameleonkids and Facebook: Crafty Chameleon Kids.

Exercise

This is vital during lockdown.  Put your boots on and enjoy one (or all) of our suggested Walking Routes.
